Brand Origins
Romeo y Julieta, named after Shakespeare’s tragic lovers, dates back to 1875. The brand achieved worldwide fame under Don "Pepin" Rodriguez in the early 20th century, renowned for pioneering the cigar band and creating over 20,000 unique designs. Winston Churchill was a devoted fan; his name commemorates the brand’s famous Churchill vitola following his visit to Havana in 1946.

In the 21st century, Romeo y Julieta introduced two more vitolas to the line: the robusto-sized Short Churchill in 2006 and the Wide Churchill in 2010, meeting demand for larger ring gauges.
